I miti delle origini insegnavano che la romanitĂ  non scorre nel sangue di chi la possiede, non Ăš, dunque, un dato biologico, testimone di purezza, ma piuttosto un merito culturale, che si guadagna per mezzo delle virtĂș sociali, adottando valori e modelli di comportamento condivisi, rispettando il diritto, obbedendo alle leggi. Si poteva nascere Romani, ma, cosa ben piĂș importante, lo si poteva diventare.
