Dass Antisemitismus "Sßnde gegen den Heiligen Geist" sei, hat Karl Barth 1938 aus Anlass der sog. Reichskristallnacht formuliert, als die Synagogen in Deutschland in Brand gesteckt wurden. Anders als damals gilt es heute als Konsens, dass Antisemitismus nicht nur aus menschenrechtlichen, sondern auch aus theologischen Grßnden zu verurteilen ist. Darßber wird aber zuweilen vergessen, dass der Antisemitismus Wurzeln auch in christlich-theologischer Tradition hat. Der Band geht den verwickelten Zusammenhängen zwischen Theologie und Antisemitismus an ausgewählten Beispielen nach & von der sog. "Adversus Iudaeos"-Literatur der kirchlichen Tradition ßber das Verhältnis der Reformation zum Judentum bis zur Theologie der "Deutschen Christen" mit ihren Nachwirkungen.
