El hilo conductor de esta "biografĂa cognitiva" es la investigaciĂłn de Maquiavelo: su forma de identificar y construir objetos de bĂșsqueda a lo largo del tiempo. Nacido de la constataciĂłn de que Maquiavelo constituye un caso histĂłrico paradĂłjicamente aĂșn poco explorado, este estudio plantea cuestiones hasta ahora nunca investigadas sobre la obra del secretario florentino y abre una serie de nuevas vĂas sobre sus fuentes, su manera de acercarse al nuevo mundo y su forma de concebir prĂĄcticas intelectuales como la lectura y la escritura. Lo que se propone aquĂ es un cambio de perspectiva: ya no se trata de interrogar a Maquiavelo sobre su identidad polĂtica o religiosa, sino de comprender cĂłmo, al interpretar la realidad, contribuye a la emergencia de un saber especĂficamente dedicado al hombre en sociedad.
