Durante il pontificato di Papa Francesco sono stati numerosi i provvedimenti (generalmente nella forma del motu proprio) attraverso i quali sono stati creati o soppressi diversi enti od organismi del governo centrale della Chiesa. Si aspettava, però, una riforma generale della Curia, mediante una Costituzione apostolica che ridisegnasse il quadro normativo nel suo complesso, dando stabilità alle molte riforme parziali. Questa attesa è terminata il 19 marzo 2022 quando, sul Bollettino della Sala Stampa della Santa Sede, è apparso il testo della legge di riforma con il titolo «Costituzione apostolica Praedicate evangelium sulla Curia Romana e il suo servizio alla Chiesa nel mondo».Il libro è un commento alla Costituzione apostolica Praedicate evangelium (integralmente riportata in Appendice), letta alla luce della storia secolare della Curia Romana. Si tratta di un sussidio rivolto agli esperti di materie giuridiche, in particolare ai canonisti, agli studenti delle Università e a tutti coloro che vogliono conoscere la struttura e il funzionamento del governo centrale della Chiesa.Sergio F. Aumenta ha lavorato per 18 anni nella Segreteria di Stato, dove è stato responsabile dell'Ufficio giuridico. È professore invitato presso la Pontificia Università della Santa Croce (2005), presso la Pontificia Università Urbaniana (nella Facoltà di Diritto canonico e nell'Istituto Superiore di Catechesi e Spiritualità missionaria; 2019) e presso la Pontificia Università S. Tommaso d'Aquino in Roma (2022).Roberto Interlandi è docente incaricato presso la Pontificia Università Gregoriana. Dal 2016 al 2021 ha lavorato presso l'Ufficio giuridico della Segreteria di Stato. Attualmente è anche membro della redazione di Quaderni di Diritto Ecclesiale. Ha vari incarichi presso l'Arcidiocesi di Catania tra cui l'ufficio di Parroco e di Giudice del Tribunale ecclesiastico.
