Este trabalho analisa os programas e a programação da Rede Globo de Televisão, recebida em São Paulo, na busca de uma categorização dos tipos de programas e do sentido global do fluxo. Identifica também os períodos em que a rede dá mais espaço à criatividade, testando novas linguagens. Nosso corpus é a programação básica da transmissora durante uma semana, no período entre os anos de 2006 e 2007, abordada sob a ótica das teorias que se preocupam com a adaptação e verificação dos discursos nos sistemas de comunicação audiovisuais. Na busca do sentido de programas e programação, nos fundamentamos em conceitos de Análise de Conteúdo, Análise de Texto, Semiótica e Semiologia da Comunicação, aplicados aos programas da TV e ao conjunto da programação. Dados os altos índices de audiência e a presença marcante no cotidiano dos brasileiros, postulamos como de relevância um olhar mais atento às estratégias de programação e contratos de comunicação propostos pela TV Globo.
