Psychodermatology is a relatively new field in evolution and thus, there is a comparative paucity of information in general. The complexity of these disorders is related to lack of understanding in genetic, embryonic, physiologic, neuroimmunologic, neurocutaneous, stress-related neuromodulation, and psychosomatic interconnections.
