Um Antworten zu finden haben die Autor*innen die Geschichte rechten Terrors in Hessen nach 1945 aufgearbeitet. Dabei werden Gewalttaten und die dahinterliegenden Strukturen rekonstruiert, zeitgeschichtlich eingeordnet und in ihren Entwicklungen analysiert. Die faktenreiche Arbeit liefert erstmals eine umfassende Darstellung rechten Terrors und kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass sich dieser wie ein roter Faden durch die Geschichte Hessens zieht.
