En este libro, dirigido sobre todo a docentes de educación secundaria, los autores transforman problemas que permiten el desarrollo de la competencia matemática «Resolución de problemas de regularidad, equivalencia y cambio» del Currículo Nacional, a partir de problemas propuestos en los materiales elaborados por encargo del Ministerio de Educación del Perú. Esta competencia es fundamental para el desarrollo del pensamiento matemático, ya que se centra en el estudio del cambio entre dos magnitudes, en la búsqueda de patrones y regularidades, así como en la búsqueda de valores desconocidos. De esa manera se pretende contribuir con la formación de profesores de matemáticas en lo que se re¬fiere al diseño y elección de situaciones didácticas que contribuyan al desarrollo del razonamiento algebraico en sus estudiantes.
