Il libro nasce da una rilettura, a posteriori, degli eventi che hanno caratterizzato la vita della Professione dei Commercialisti negli ultimi trent'anni, con particolare attenzione alle trasformazioni che hanno garantito alla Categoria la visibilità e la considerazione socio-politica che meritava. Si narra degli artefici del cambiamento e della loro capacità di interagire e relazionarsi in nome di un Bene comune, ma ci si sofferma, altresì, su quanto l'alterazione delle dinamiche interne e la rottura degli equilibri precedentemente raggiunti abbia prodotto effetti devastanti sulla stessa Categoria. A dimostrazione del fatto che i successi e gli insuccessi, in qualunque ambito, spesso sono determinati non tanto dagli attori protagonisti della storia e delle storie, quanto dai loro atteggiamenti, dalle loro relazioni e dalla loro capacità o incapacità di interloquire. Questa narrazione, dunque, vuole essere un monito ai giovani, non solo Commercialisti, oggi Protagonisti di questa e di tante altre storie simili, affinché siano capaci di progettare ed agire guardando al futuro, senza però dimenticare di cogliere nel passato le criticità su cui riflettere ma anche i grandi tesori da custodire.
