Este libro pretende caracterizar desde el punto de vista bibliológico-arqueológico los diferentes modelos técnicos que componen la historia de la encuadernación occidental y sus contextos de producción, poniendo énfasis en los modelos establecidos en torno al libro impreso a partir del siglo xv y principalmente a lo largo del siglo xix.
