Auf der Grundlage der Leibphänomenologie von Hermann Schmitz entwickelt die Autorin ein theoretisches Fundament für das Spüren und die leibliche Kommunikation zwischen Gebärender und Hebamme. Dieser Ansatz eröffnet einen neuen Zugang für die Handlungsweise von Hebammen. Geburtshilfliche Phänomene lassen sich damit darstellen und begründen. Die besondere "Sprache" der Hebammentätigkeit wird sichtbar.
