En 1987 se celebró en Manizales, Colombia, el tercer seminario de Arquitectura Latinoamericana, gracias a la iniciativa de un entusiasta grupo de arquitectos interesados en reflexionar sobre las características y particularidades de la arquitectura de nuestro continente, encabezado por Rogelio Salmona. Veintiseis años después, nuestro país volvió a ser anfitrión y no hubo duda en que la organización de la versión 15 de los seminarios de Arquitectura Latinoamericana debía estar en manos de la Fundación Rogelio Salmona (FRS), entidad comprometida en conservar y recrear la obra, el pensamiento y las enseñanzas de este destacado arquitecto. Esta publicación comprende las memorias del SAL 15, celebrado en Bogotá entre el 22 y el 26 de septiembre de 2013.Para el Instituto Distrital de Patrimonio Cultural, este título se constituye en una gran oportunidad para conocer en voz de sus protagonistas –arquitectos, urbanistas, docentes, investigadores, estudiantes–, lo que está sucediendo hoy en nuestras ciudades latinoamericanas y su visión sobre su futuro, para así aprender de las experiencias de todos, y también, para incentivar a las nuevas generaciones de profesionales para que continúen este trabajo con sus propias ideas e iniciativas.
