Este trabalho trata da sintonia automática de controladores do tipo PID (proporcional integral e derivativo) e sua implementação em CLP (controlador lógico programável). São apresentadas, analisadas e simuladas estruturas típicas de controladores PID e as características adicionais necessárias para utilização na prática. O método de identificação utilizado é baseado na resposta ao degrau de sistemas tipicamente FOPDT (primeira ordem mais tempo morto) e SOPDT (segunda ordem mais tempo morto), com identificação via modelo FOPDT. Várias técnicas de identificação e sintonia são também apresentadas, simuladas e analisadas, optando-se neste trabalho pela implementação prática do método de identificação de Smith e sintonia via método de Chien-Hrones-Reswick. Por fim, são comparados os desempenhos dos métodos de sintonia apresentados via plataforma de programação Codesys. A solução proposta mostrou-se satisfatória dentro das limitações e condições apresentadas, atendendo às expectativas e requisitos esperados.
