Der Jesuitenpater Alfred Delp (1907-1945) gehörte dem "Kreisauer Kreis" an, einer Gruppe von Gegnern des Naziregimes, die mitten im Krieg die künftige Gesellschaftsordnung für Deutschland vorbereiteten. Er wurde bald zum Inspirator und zur führenden Persönlichkeit dieser Gruppe. Nach dem Attentat auf Hitler am 20. Juli 1944 wurde Delp wie die anderen »Kreisauer« verhaftet. Am 2. Februar 1945 wurde er in Berlin-Plötzensee hingerichtet. Alfred Delp gehört zu den großen Blutzeugen des 20. Jahrhunderts und zu einer der beeindruckendsten Gestalten des Widerstands gegen die Nazi-Diktatur.
