Jahrhundert erscheint. Gestützt auf bisher unbekannte Quellen aus amerikanischen Archiven, rekonstruiert Bernd Greiner die Geschichte des längsten und gewalttätigsten Krieges nach 1945. Dabei wird deutlich, warum ein Krieg ohne Fronten im Desaster enden musste und weshalb dennoch zehn Jahre vergingen, ehe eine im Grundsatz verfehlte Politik korrigiert werden konnte - und welche Erbschaft aus dieser Zeit bis heute nachwirkt.
