JugendverbĂ€nde sind wichtige Sozialisationsarenen fĂŒr Jugendliche. Wie und wo aber engagieren sich Jugendliche mit Migrationshintergrund, die bisher in den anerkannten Jugendvereinen seltener vertreten sind? Die empirische Studie fragt erstmals nach der Bedeutung von Vereinen von Jugendlichen mit Migrationshintergrund (VJM). Sie untersucht anhand von drei VJM die WĂŒnsche, Hoffnungen und Forderungen, die Jugendliche mit Migrationshintergrund mit den Vereinen, aber auch mit dem Leben in Deutschland verbinden. Dabei kann gezeigt werden, dass VJM keine Arenen des 'entweder-oder', sondern der kontingenten Gleichzeitigkeit verschiedener Relevanz- und Bezugssysteme fĂŒr die Jugendlichen sind. Durch die Synthese verschiedener Praxen der Anerkennung, die auf adoleszenzspezifischen und gleichzeitig migrations- bzw. diskriminierungsrelevanten Faktoren beruhen, können die Vereine den Jugendlichen RĂ€ume bereit stellen, die es ihnen ermöglichen, selbstbewusst in der Gesellschaft zu partizipieren.
