Aquestes lectures fusterianes són abordades de manera minuciosa en aquest estudi, que traça un recorregut cronològic per l'atenció de Fuster envers l'obra i també analitza com l'escriptor maldà per recuperar el 'Tirant' com a clàssic de la literatura catalana, especialment enmig del context repressiu del franquisme. La recerca exhaustiva de documentació ha permès aplegar els seus escrits sobre el 'Tirant', d'índole diversa –articles periodístics, estudis, cartes, conferències...–, i traure'n de nous a la llum. El conjunt, que s'edita i s'anota per primera vegada, esdevé un testimoni historicoliterari de primera magnitud, vist ara en perspectiva. Aquesta monografia, que va estar guardonada amb el Premi Joan Coromines d'investigació filològica, històrica o cultural (2022), convocat per la Societat Coral El Micalet, contribueix a valorar, des d'un angle nou, l'aportació inestimable de Joan Fuster al coneixement i a la comprensió de la nostra història cultural.
