Este libro ofrece al lector la traducción comparada, en edición bilingüe, de los tres textos principales, hasta ahora disponibles, del que durante siglos se ha conocido con el nombre de Tao Te ching: la copia de Guodian, la más antigua (siglo -IV), las dos de Mawangdui (siglo -II) y la versión de Wang Bi (siglo III).Esta nueva edición presenta novedades sustantivas con respecto a las anteriores. Se ha añadido el texto chino de la versión de Wang Bi y se ha remodelado en profundidad el texto de Guodian, ajustándolo lo más posible al original. Aunque lo más destacado son las numerosas modificaciones de que ha sido objeto la traducción. Algunas de ellas, de gran calado, se fundamentan en una suerte de clave oculta que el autor ha creído entrever a partir de las relecturas del Tao Te ching durante los últimos doce años.
