Anita Loos (April 26, 1889 – August 18, 1981) was an American screenwriter, playwright, and author, best known for her sharp wit and humorous writing. She was born in Sisson, California (now Mount Shasta) and raised in San Francisco. Loos began her writing career at a young age, contributing to various magazines and newspapers.
