Teaching the Preservation

About This Book
Since its creation in 2007, the Laboratory of Techniques and Preservation of Modern Architecture (TSAM) at the Ăcole polytechnique fĂ©dĂ©rale de Lausanne (EPFL) has been a unique experiment in how to teach the preservation of twentieth-century architecture. With courses in both theory and project design, the TSAM has been a driving force in the development of preservation as a discipline in its own right, in Switzerland and farther afield. In publishing this third volume of the TSAM Notebooks, the Laboratory is taking a look back at this remarkable pedagogical undertaking and providing a snapshot of the current situation. This book brings together contributions from the many architects, engineers, landscape architects, and architectural historians who over the years have been a part of the teaching experience at the EPFL and who have been instrumental in its success.
