Georgism

Unlocking Prosperity, the Georgist Revolution in Economic Justice

About this book

What is Georgism

In modern times, Georgism is also known as Geoism, and historically, it was known as the single tax movement. Georgism is an economic ideology that holds that, despite the fact that individuals should own the value that they produce themselves, the economic rent that is derived from land, which includes all natural resources, the commons, and urban locations, should belong equally to all members of society. Henry George, an American economist and social reformer, is credited with developing the Georgist paradigm, which aims to find solutions to social and ecological problems. This paradigm is founded on ideas of land rights and public finance, which attempt to merge economic efficiency with social fairness.
