El presente volumen contiene un conjunto de ensayos que recorren distintos aspectos de la historia Los años transcurridos entre la restauración democrática y la actualidad constituyen el corte histórico dentro del cual se ubica este trabajo. En este periodo, la Universidad de Buenos Aires debió transitar las instancias de su propia normalización luego de la dictadura y afrontar las cambiantes alternativas del contexto político y social de los últimos cuarenta años. Al mismo tiempo, debió administrar la conflictividad surgida de su intensa y activa vida institucional y resolver los desafíos derivados del importante lugar que ocupa en el mapa de la educación superior en la región.Con las voces de los protagonistas, este libro cuenta la historia de esos años; a lo largo de cinco capítulos –organizados en torno a las figuras de los rectores–, mediante entrevistas y material documental se reconstruye la memoria más reciente de la Universidad.
