Die Vermittlung der Kreuzesbotschaft als Sühneort für Sünden wird in der heutigen Zeit zunehmend problematisch gesehen. Die Schwierigkeit besteht darin, in der Verkündigung einerseits den liebenden und verge- benden Gott in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen, andererseits aber zu betonen, dass dafür ein blutiges Opfer notwendig war. Ist Gott nun ein strenger, unerbittlicher Richter oder ist er unser liebender Vater?Beides zugleich scheint in der heutigen Zeit kaum mehr vermittelbar. Eine Möglichkeit ist, das Sühnemotiv des Kreuzes lediglich als zeitgenössische Metapher zu verstehen, die heute anders interpretiert werden muss. Aber stimmt das mit den Aussagen in der Bibel überein?Im vorliegenden Band untersuchen die Autoren die Bedeutung des Kreuzes sowohl exegetisch, wie soziologisch als auch missiologisch und kommen zu dem Schluss, dass die Versöhnungslehre der Schrift eine zeitlose Botschaft ist. Dieser tragende Grundgedanke entlastet aber nicht davon, immer wieder nach einer Sprache zu suchen, in der die Botschaft vom Kreuz auch heute noch verstanden wird.Hinweis: Diese Veröffentlichung enthält die Beiträge zum theologischen Studientag des BFP 2024
