Der Band zeigt anhand zweier Korpusstudien erstmals eine Bandbreite von Verben, die in Bewegungskonstruktionen des Deutschen auftreten können und kontrastiert diese Daten zu Versprachlichungsstrategien des Englischen und Schwedischen. Der Fokus wird auf bislang wenig systematisch erhobene Versprachlichungsstrategien gerichtet, wie etwa reflexive Konstruktionen (Sie kichern sich frisch verliebt durch die Gegend) oder Modalkonstruktionen (Sie wollen nach Hamburg). Aus Perspektive der Konstruktionsgrammatik wird die theoretische Frage aufgeworfen, wie die verschiedenen Konstruktionen auf dem Kontinuum zwischen Kompositionalität und Idiomatik zu verorten sind.
