The book also describes diseases affecting the cardiovascular system, the nervous system, psychological disorders, the genitor-urinary system, the blood, and the lymph nodes. Inborn errors of metabolism include Gaucher's disease, cerebromacular degeneration, generalized xanthomatosis, diabetes mellitus, and Von Gierke's disease. The text discusses allergies, venereal disease, and accidents that can occur in childhood such as burns, scalds, lead or iron poisoning.
