Psychoonkolog_innen sorgen für gezielte Entlastung und seelische Unterstützung, für professionelle Hilfe bei der Krankheitsbewältigung im gesamten Verlauf der Erkrankung.Entsprechend ist das Buch nach Krankheitsphasen gegliedert, denen jeweils Interventionsmethoden zugeordnet sind. Denn es macht einen Unterschied, Patient_innen (oder deren Angehörige) unmittelbar nach Diagnosemitteilung, nach einem Rezidiv oder in den letzten Lebenswochen zu begegnen.
