This is the history of Centrecare – a social welfare agency which came into existence and succeeded against all odds. Against the backdrop of a rapidly changing nation, this book traces the hard-fought development of Centrecare from a small band of volunteers offering few services and under the firm direction of the Perth Archbishop in 1970 to the $35 million not-for-profit organisation that offered 68 services across 11 branches in 2023; an organisation that is not afraid in its pursuit of justice to challenge the Catholic Church.
