About this book
The book presents speeches, comments, biographical sketches, background information, stories, and recommendations drawn from the Millennium Conferences on Creativity in the Arts and Sciences, a series of events staged in 1999 and 2000 to help Canada mark the arrival of the new Millennium. The Governor General, Nobel Laureates, and national and international leaders from the arts and sciences communities call for new alliances between the disciplines, new forms of multidisciplinary collaboration, risk-taking, and long-term commitments. The events covered by the book include the Symposium on Creativity and Innovation staged at the 2000 Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities in Edmonton and the centrepiece event Creativity 2000.
