Tot plegat fa que a en Maic li vinguin uns remolins al melic que el dobleguen i li fan pensar que es partirà en dues meitats. L'única cosa que el distreu són els veïns de l'escala: la senyora Coixins, per exemple, que fa unes abraçades toves i càlides, o el senyor i la senyora Històries, que són els únics que l'escolten.
