"e;The Man Who Lost His Face"e; is a science fiction novel by Alexander Belyaev. It tells the story of Tonio Presto, a dwarf comedian from San Francisco whose film success does not help him in his personal life due to his deformity. He decides to change his appearance with the Russian doctor Sorokin and becomes a beautiful but unfamiliar man. He gives up his career and disappears. Later, a gang appears in the city, whose members can change their appearance. The participants of Presto's farewell party become victims of his revenge, but are ultimately saved by Dr. Sorokin.
