In October 1933, Ilf and Petrov arrived in Sevastopol in anticipation of their departure abroad. Their journey was to begin on a cruiser escorted by two destroyers. It was a small group of writers and artists who went abroad. Ilf and Petrov had a unique opportunity to go on this journey on a handsome blue cruiser, the flagship. In addition, the cartoonist Boris Yefimov was in this company, who, of course, added brightness and fun to this journey.
