Eleven-year-old Bones copes with the loss of her brother by drawing animal skeletons and collecting dead things. She's pushed away her friends and prefers her own company, until she meets her new neighbor, Tenny.
One night, under a full moon, Bones accidentally brings a baby bird skeleton to life. Bird needs Bones to reverse the curse, and as they work together, Bones rediscovers the joy of friendship. But how can she say goodbye to Bird when she doesn't want him to leave?
