Nessun viaggio oltremare, nessuna mappa: eppure, in quel nome si cela un'eco delle saghe islandesi che raccontano l'approdo di navigatori nordeuropei sulle coste americane, quasi cinquecento anni prima di Cristoforo Colombo. "Quante Americhe?" prende le mosse da questa attestazione per esplorare la questione della presenza europea nel nuovo continente prima della sua convenzionale "scoperta" nel 1492.
