About this book
This volume contains contributions to an international conference on "Ecumenical and Interreligious Study Programs – Experiences from Beirut, Hyderabad, Jerusalem and Kyoto", organized 2022 by the Evangelical Churches in Hesse and the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity. Its aim was an evaluation of these study programs based on intercultural experiences. The increasing globalization processes in trade, politics, culture and religion require ecumenical and interreligious training of future pastors and religious educators in foreign cultures in order to tackle the challenges at home.
The contributors are participants of these programs, their organizers abroad or their institutional supporters. The encouraging results of 20–40 years of experience up to now suggest that churches should send more students and invest more resources in these study opportunities.

Vergleiche – Evaluierungen – Überlegungen] Dieser Band enthält Beiträge zur internationalen Konferenz »Ökumenische und interreligiöse Studienprogramme – Erfahrungen aus Beirut, Hyderabad, Jerusalem und Kyoto«, die 2022 von der Evangelischen Kirchen in Hessen und der Evangelischen Mission in Solidarität veranstaltet wurde. Sie zielte auf die Evaluierung dieser Programme, die auf interkulturellem Lernen basieren. Die zunehmenden Globalisierungsprozesse in den Gebieten von Handel, Politik, Kultur und Religion erfordern ökumenische und interreligiöse Ausbildung zukünftiger Pastoren und Religionslehrer in anderen Kulturen, um die Herausforderungen zu Hause effizienter zu bewältigen.
Die Beitragenden sind Teilnehmer dieser Studienprogramme, deren Organisatoren vor Ort sowie ihre unterstützenden Organisationen. Die 20 bzw. 40-jährigen Erfahrungen mit diesen Programmen sind so ermutigend, dass es sich für die Kirchen dringend empfiehlt, Studierende zur Teilnahme zu ermutigen und diese Programme mehr zu unterstützen.
