Der Saarbrücker Runde Tisch für Dialektsyntax (SaRDiS), der sich jährlich an der Universität des Saarlandes trifft, bietet ein regelmäßiges Forum für theoretisch informierte Studien zur Syntax der Dialekte des Deutschen und nahe verwandter Sprachen als natürlich entwickelte Sprachformen. Die Ergebnisse des zweiten SaRDiS bilden die Grundlage dieses Bandes. Das objektsprachliche Spektrum umfasst Dialekte wie das Alemannische, Moselfränkische und die Inselsprache Mennonite Low German. Untersuchte Phänomene sind beispielsweise die linke Peripherie, aspektuelle Konstruktionen wie das am-Progressiv bzw. die alemannische Partikel afa ("anfangen") oder die Abfolge der Elemente in der Verbalphrase. Zusätzlich wird in diesem Band die Rubrik "Schaufenster Saarland" eingeführt, in der Ergebnisse aus Abschlussarbeiten zur Dialektsyntax der saarländischen Dialekte vorgestellt werden.
