Der Saarbrücker Runde Tisch für Dialektsyntax (SaRDiS) findet einmal im Jahr an der Universität des Saarlandes statt. Als Forum für theoretisch informierte Studien zur Syntax deutschsprachiger und verwandter Varietäten wird er mittlerweile auch rege von Wissenschaftlern außerhalb Deutschlands genutzt und geschätzt. Dieser Band umfasst die Forschungsbilanz des dritten SaRDiS und erste Ergebnisse des vierten. Die Autorinnen und Autoren berühren die Syntax-Morphologie-Schnittstelle (Kasusmarkierung im Oberdeutschen, zu-Infinitiv, Einheitsplural im Mittelniederdeutschen). Weitere untersuchte Phänomene sind die intrapersonelle Variation in schweizerdeutschen Dialekten, die Verwendung unterschiedlicher Artikelformen im Südhessischen, varietätenübergreifende wie -spezifische Verbalkonstruktionen (kommen und Bewegungsverb, der schwäbische "Propositiv"). Theoretische Rahmen bilden neben generativ-minimalistischen geprägten Ansätzen (Doubly Filled COMP und polare Fragen im Hochdeutschen, Fragepartikel im Thüringischen) diesmal auch die Konstruktionsgrammatik (Entstehung literater Konstruktionen im Mittelniederdeutschen). Den Abschluss bilden wieder zwei Beiträge der Rubrik "Schaufenster Saarland".
