"Julian of Norwich and the Kingdom of God" extends what is already known of Julian's biblical knowledge, including biblical interpretation, and explores her texts through a biblically inspired theme – the kingdom of God. By tracing this theme, the author assesses Julian's developing understanding while she pondered her visions. The author also explores the extent to which Julian perceived the kingdom of God in personal terms and in relation to membership of the institutional Church. The book will interest those investigating the medieval world, the Church of that era and the contribution of women members.
