Sorbische Frauen wurden in nationalen/ethnischen Diskursen oft auf eine reprĂ€sentative Position â SymboltrĂ€gerinnen des kulturellen Erbes und HĂŒterinnen der ethnischen IdentitĂ€t â festgelegt. Damit wurden jedoch ihre subjektiven Erfahrungen im Alltagsleben und die vielfĂ€ltige soziale Praxis ausgeblendet. Die Autorin stellt die herkömmliche Konzeptionalisierung von EthnizitĂ€t und Geschlecht in Frage. Sie zeigt auf, dass sorbische Frauen erst durch die alltĂ€gliche Praxis und Interaktion mit Anderen ihre (ethnische) IdentitĂ€t aktiv konstruieren und sozial herstellen. Das traditionelle Bild eines scheinbar homogenen Sorbentums wird revidiert und dynamisch neu definiert.
