What was eventually discovered inside White House Farm shocked the nation; Nevill and June Bamber, their daughter Sheila, and her twin six-year-old sons, Daniel and Nicholas had all been shot dead with a rifle, and at first sight everything pointed towards Sheila having been the perpetrator of a murder-suicide. Within weeks though, the case took a dramatic turn and in 1986 Jeremy Bamber was convicted of murdering his family and sentenced to life in prison without any chance of release.
