Learn to better commune with God in prayer and walk more closely with him in everyday life through thirty devotions on prayer taken from the sermons of Charles H. Spurgeon.
For those who had the opportunity to encounter nineteenth-century pastor Charles H. Spurgeon personally, what many noticed was that he was a man of prayer. For Spurgeon, prayer was as constant and natural as breathing. Prayer was not only the breath of the soul, but also the breath of the church. Through prayer, the church was reminded of her constant dependence on God. Spurgeon not only urged his people to pray, but he also taught them to pray.
Breath of the Soul is a daily reminder to get your head above water and breathe again. Spurgeon understood the importance of prayer, and in our pragmatic, distracted age, we need to hear his instruction again. His teachings provide both a theology and a practical instruction of prayer. These devotions also focus on confession, supplication, and thanksgiving, and encourage readers to persevere in prayer.
