Its intention is, of course, to lay foundations for future research and to serve as a reference work for many years to come. The extensive inclusion serves specifically to cover as much ground as possible, and the future reader will determine whether this effort was justified and worthwhile or not. I like to believe that the former will be the case. In order to achieve this goal, I had, of course, to rely on all individual contributors who marked essential key words for the index.
