Der Lehrer der Gerechtigkeit und Epiktet werden als zwei kulturelle Parallelen zum Vergleich herangezogen. Die Art und Weise, in der ihrer in der Literatur gedacht wird und in der sie das Leben ihrer JĂźnger formen, bietet eine adäquate historische Perspektive und einen hilfreichen Bezugsrahmen. AbschlieĂend wird durch eine im Licht der relevanten soziologischen Theorien (Wissenssoziologie, Gruppenbildung) durchgefĂźhrte soziohistorische Interpretation der drei Lehrer und ihrer JĂźnger darauf hingewiesen, dass Jesus als der Eine Lehrer fĂźr die Leser in der Gemeinde des Matthäus vier kritische Funktionen erfĂźllt - eine polemische, eine apologetische, eine didaktische und eine seelsorgerische.
