This selection of hotels is designed to give a cross section of accommodation available in the main towns (for details of accommodation in general, click here). It’s best to book in advance, particularly in high season or at carnival time, when prices go up. High season is November to February, July and August. Don’t expect to find accommodation everywhere – it is mainly concentrated in the larger towns and resorts. As a basic guide to room prices we have used the following symbols for a double room with bath/shower in high season:

The northeast
Anaga
Albergue Montes de Anaga € tel: 922 82 32 25; http://alberguestenerife.net. This modern, three-storey block with 9 bedrooms (sleeping between 2 and 6 people) is just about the only place to stay in the middle of the Parque Rural de Anaga. Fabulously set in a remote location, with impressive views, it is walker-friendly, and you can also hire bikes here and get information about the park. Meals and picnics are available.
La Laguna

This mansion, situated in the middle of the unesco World Heritage quarter of town, was at one time the home of the bishop of Tenerife.
