Das deutsche Strafrecht ist weltweit rezipiert worden. Über Japan gelangte es nach Südkorea und Taiwan und von dort nach China; das chinesische Strafgesetzbuch von 1997 ist sehr stark dem deutschen Vorbild verpflichtet. Dasselbe gilt für das neue türkische Strafgesetzbuch von 2005. Spanien und die Länder Südamerikas haben ebenfalls deutsches Strafrecht rezipiert. In allen genannten Ländern orientiert sich auch die Strafrechtswissenschaft mehr oder weniger stark am deutschen Modell. Aufsätze und Lehrwerke aus Deutschland werden übersetzt; es finden zahlreiche gemeinsame Tagungen statt und viele Doktoranden aus den genannten Ländern reisen nach Deutschland, um hier ihre wissenschaftliche Schulung zu erhalten. In diesem Sammelband sind die Autobiographien solcher ausländischer Kollegen versammelt worden, die sich in besonderer Weise um die Zusammenarbeit mit der deutschen Strafrechtswissenschaft verdient gemacht haben.
