Über dieses Buch

To what extent is it natural and to what extent is it cultural to be a woman or a man? And are the parameters that define the gender of a person really so scientifically accurate?
Today, the transgender phenomenon forces us to ask ourselves these questions, embarrassing the silent majority that unthinkingly accepts the rigidly binary vision of sexuality, which is useful to the patriarchal system under which we live. This is the root cause of the unequal treatment of people who are part of this system.
This self-help manual, through the flower essence therapy, wants above all to help people to cope with the problems, external, but also internal, caused by discrimination, which continues to affect and criminalize those who are "different." It will become the friend that you can always turn to, even when you are alone, because it is written in a way that makes it is easy to find the ailment that is bothering you and the flower that can help dissolve it.
The text accompanies and supports the transgender person in every step of the entire route, from an awareness of his or her own identity to the difficult relationships with others.
Since most of the problems are due to discrimination, the book can be of benefit to all those who have made an LGBTQ choice.
I dress regardless of the gender that I have been given;
I take hormones, I have altered my body surgically
Why discriminate?
Who have I hurt? Where are my victims?

FLOWERS IN YOUR MIND
Image
THE PERIOD OF AMBIGUITY
Here, the term ambiguity refers not so much to a mood or frame of mind, but rather to that time, even very early on, when you are attracted to people of the opposite sex. They represent a sort of ideal version of yourself, someone who you dream of resembling when you grow up.
Typically this attraction becomes more passionate in pre-adolescence. It can even become more intense when the unwanted secondary sexual characteristics, which make you feel trapped in a physical reality that does not match what you feel inside, begin to appear.
When you begin to feel sexual attraction, you are often attracted to people of the same sex, even if at first you may feel confused. You aren’t immediately sure whether what you are experiencing is related to homosexuality or transsexuality, or whether your sexuality is simply not yet clearly defined. This stage is natural when the T person is very young, and may persist and appear as conflicts even into adulthood.
Transphobia and homophobia, inherited from the prejudices suffered, are still internalized and appear as a dark but deep fear that T people have for themselves. This is often the base of a painful conflict because T people will spontaneously follow the models of the society in which they live unless they come from an open and informed family. But when no accurate information is available, they only know that transsexuality and homosexuality are immoral behaviors. Often, T people do not want to feel within themselves the signs that might push them towards those behaviors.
On one hand, there is the strong desire to identify with the opposite sex, seen as necessary to achieve an inner balance and also to see where it actually leads. But on the other hand, there is the fear of making a mistake, of having to pay too high a price, or also and even worse, of finding out that one is a "monster," an unacceptable reality for a person’s sense of dignity.
In this dramatic period, there is the fear of judgment, rejection, disappointing one’s family and losing their love, of being ridiculed and becoming the laughing stock of one’s peers: in a nutshell, of suffering the punishment that society reserves for those who are different.
The desire for transition will grow and will become clearer with time and experience, when your doubts fade and you become certain of the gender identity to which you would like to belong. And when you are uninformed about the possibility of changing your gender, you feel destined only to unhappiness, imprisoned forever in a body that does not feel like your own.
The day that a T person discovers that radical changes can be made to her/his own body, it is always a moment that brings back hope and often makes him or her more courageous.
As we will see in the chapter on the family of origin, conflict and suffering will be more distressing and difficult when your family does not give the necessary support. The flowers that follow are intended to be supportive at this stage and to help to make things less uncertain.
Bach Flowers To Confront the Period of Ambiguity
Agrimony
Agrimony is the most appropriate remedy for ambiguity and for those people who minimize their discomfort because they think that it would be too painful to focus on it.
These people defend, above all, the quiet life and avoid clashes and any possible cause of friction. If they realize that they have features that would be disapproved of, they tend to hide them, but are worried about being found out.
Even when they feel that their identity does not belong to their birth gender, they rarely go into the matter in detail because they do not dare to openly challenge society and their own environment.
Aspen
Aspen is useful for those people who are overwhelmed by anxiety. The lack of information makes them afraid of being the only people in the world with a gender identity problem and they see their future as an unavoidably dark tunnel.
Centaury
Centaury helps those people who are emotionally blocked by the differing opinions that their loved ones might have. This makes it difficult for them to even focus on their problems. In fact, their loved ones’ criticism seems to destroy their sense of self and their ability to plan for the future.
This remedy helps them to be perfectly in tune with their inner identity.
Cerato
When people feel, or seem to feel, signs of being different, they are reluctant to believe it because they are unaccustomed to having faith in themselves.
Cerato is suitable for people who feel unable to direct their lives on their own. Because they are afraid of making mistakes, they cling to the advice of others, thus increasing their confusion.
The flower helps them to clarify the situation and to trust their own perceptions, giving them the strength to follow them.
Cherry Plum
Cherry Plum is useful for people who vaguely fear that transsexuality could be a depravity, and they fight their own nature by controlling themselves in everything, but especially by trying to suppress their sexual energy. In this way, they accumulate tension and experience their inevitable failures with a sense of guilt and the fear of being condemned to eternal damnation.
Clematis
Clematis is indicated for those who avoid the transition problem by cutting themselves off from their bodies and from their impulses and by taking refuge in daydreams.
The flower helps to bring clarity to their motivations.
Crab Apple
Crab Apple is an important remedy when the transition phase becomes very painful because of the depraved view that society has of the trans world, which makes you loathe yourself simply at the idea of belonging to it.
Gentian
Gentian can help those people who give more importance to the obstacles they might face than to what they really need. The overestimated difficulties appear insurmountable.
This remedy is very useful when a person does not even consider the fact that the transsexual world is also made up of warmth and solidarity and that being close to so many people would be like having a new family.
Gentian helps you have a clearer perspective because it dissolves pessimistic thoughts.
Larch
Larch is helpful for those who are thinking about giving up the transition because they are too afraid of taking risks and because they feel inadequate compared to the complexity of the transitional path.
It is useful for those people who admire the strong, affirmative and often public T figures and they feel inadequate and unable to confront the transitional path when they compare themselves to these public T figures.
Mimulus
Mimulus is appropriate for those people who do not have the courage to live officially something that can draw upon them other people’s attention and aggression. They feel capable of dealing with their own internal problems, but the not external ones that are created by others.
Pine
Pine is indicated for those who live the transitional period with a sense of guilt. They see themselves as different from others, as if they made this choice to spite their family and society. These people can enter a deep, often secret, personal conflict and tend to disregard their rights and motives.
Scleranthus
Scleranthus helps when T people finds aspects of both genders in themselves and periodically feels the need to choose between one or the other but remain uncertain because they do not allow the real content of their their consciousness to emerge on its own schedule.
This remedy is always useful in providing support for teenagers who feel confused.
Walnut
Walnut is appropriate for people who stagnate for a long time in this phase because of a simple internal conflict: should they do what they want or please their families and society? They cannot make up their minds. They do not doubt their choices, but indefinitely keep putting off a decision that could lead to problems for them.
This remedy helps achieve greater clarity on how to proceed.
Water Violet
Water Violet is useful for people who avoid the transition problem by cutting themselves off from their bodies and their impulses and indefinitely postpone an emotional confrontation with themselves.
Wild Oat
Wild Oat is appropriate for those people who are dissatisfied and restless in this phase because they try to figure out which way would be more beneficial instead of trying to focus on what their true identity is.
Supportive Californian Flowers
Alpine Lily
Both FtM and MtF would benefit from taking this flower because in its essence, it is related to femininity and helps focus better on it.
Baby Blue Eyes
FtM. This flower is useful if there are doubts that the perso...
