MAJOR SCALES

As we have previously said, Chords are built on notes. Those notes go together because they are from the same scale and blend well.
There are about 7 chords that each scale can create.
And those chords follow a specific formula, irrespective of the key the scale is in.

i
ii
iii
iv
v
vi
vii
C Major
D Minor
E Minor
F Major
G Major
A Minor
B Dim
In the Major Scales, in the key of D, the chords created will be as follows:
i
ii
iii
iv
v
vi
vii
D Major
E Minor
F# Minor
G Major
A Major
B Minor
C# Dim

i
ii
iii
iv
v
vi
vii
Major
Minor
Minor
Major
Major
Minor
Dim

ii
iii
iv
v
vi
vii
Tonic
SuperTonic
Mediant
SubDominant
Dominant
SubMediant
LeadingNote
