Winning the War in Your Mind Workbook
Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life
Craig Groeschel
Ă propos de ce livre
In this twelve-lesson workbook, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Craig Groeschel pairs modern psychology and biblical teaching to reveal how to win the war in your mind and restore daily peace in your life.
What you think shapes who you are.
If your thoughts are out of control, your life will be as well. Both the Bible and modern science provide evidence that this is true.
In recent years, a discipline of psychology called cognitive behavioral therapy has gained popularity. This discipline is rooted in an understanding that many problems--from eating disorders to relational challenges, addictions, and even some forms of depression--are rooted in negative patterns of thinking. Treating those problems begins with changing that thinking.
This has many parallels with Scripture. In Paul's letter to the Philippians, he writes about turning our thoughts to certain types of things (truth, purity, loveliness...) and putting them into practice so that we experience God's peace.
In this workbook, Craig goes deeper into the principles outlined in his book (sold separately) to reveal the strategies he has discovered that will change your mind and, by extension, your life for the long-term. Each lesson includes biblical exploration, reflection and application questions, and practical exercises to help you:
- Gain insight into how your brain works and how your thoughts affect your reality.
- Identify your destructive thought patterns and eliminate them from your life.
- Become a thought warrior and replace the enemy's lies with God's truth.
God has something better for your life than your old ways of thinking. It's time to change your mind so God can change your life.

REMOVE THE LIES, REPLACE WITH TRUTH
LESSON ONE
PERCEPTION IS REALITY
EXPLORING GODâS WORD
1 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lordâs disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, âSaul, Saul, why do you persecute me?â5 âWho are you, Lord?â Saul asked.âI am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,â he replied. 6 âNow get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.â7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, âAnanias!ââYes, Lord,â he answered.11 The Lord told him, âGo to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.â13 âLord,â Ananias answered, âI have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.â15 But the Lord said to Ananias, âGo! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.â17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, âBrother Saul, the LordâJesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming hereâhas sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.â 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saulâs eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.â ACTS 9:1â19
