The Traditionalists

The keepers of the flame of traditional décor are the true treasures of the discipline of interior design. For the most part, they approach their work with a solid knowledge of the history of how people of means have lived for centuries. Their mise en place of décor typically involves important antique furniture and rugs, classical fabrics, wallcovering and trims and, always, fine art.

Scholarly, deliberate and finely detailed, these are the rooms that define the concept of timelessness, since they are, at their core, a product of time standing still. Viewers may ask, “Does anyone really live this way anymore?” The answer is clearly “yes,” as these buildouts suggest. And while their references are historical and their methodology steeped in time-honored craftsmanship, every one of these rooms could clearly exist in the now or then or anytime, for that matter. Such is the true definition of “timelessness.”
