• learn how to greet people, introduce yourself, give basic biographical information, and bid farewell;
• talk about your interests, likes and dislikes, and your use of social media;
• learn to ask questions about other people’s lives, interests, and use of social media;
• write a personal blog, posts and comments on Russian social networks;
• create a video blog post about yourself.

Cultural note #1: Ты and Вы

Use ТЫ when speaking with children, pets, family members, friends, or classmates your age/under the age of 30.

Use ВЫ when speaking with two or more people or with adults (unless they suggest that you use the more informal ТЫ). Don’t forget to use ВЫ with professors and strangers!

Use Здра́вствуй! Приве́т! Дава́й познако́мимся! Пока́! only with people your age/under the age of 30, friends or family members.
