How to Cite Lecture Notes in Harvard Style

At most universities, students are not required to cite their lectures. More often than not, lectures are informed by multiple academic sources. Students are therefore encouraged to cite these sources directly.
Nevertheless, if you choose to cite lecture notes, we’ve got you covered.
Format for lecture notes: Harvard style
Author Surname, Initial(s). (Year) ‘Lecture title’ [Lecture notes], Module Code/Title of Module. Institution. Day Month. Available at: URL (Accessed: Day Month Year).
For example:
Nicholas, K. (2020) ‘A Few Thoughts on Work-Life Balance’ [Lecture notes], COMPSCI1027: Introduction to Programming. University of Glasgow. 23 January. Available at: https://www.slideshare.net/WimVanderbauwhede/a-few-thoughts-on-work-lifebalance (Accessed: 19 April 2021).
If the lecture notes cannot be accessed online, follow the formatting guidelines above but end your reference at ‘Day Month’.
For example:
Cummings, D. (2014) ‘Introduction to form’ [Lecture notes], ENGL 540: Poetry and Rhetoric. University of Cambridge. 9 April.
